An Fe occurrence/mine in magnetite ore located about 2¼ miles West of Midvale, placing it in present day Bloomingdale Borough. Started before 1857 (2nd. mine near the close of the 18th century). Reopened 1886, 1890 to about 1890, then 1905. Ore deposit was comprised of the London vein (9 to 10 feet thick x 500 feet long). Workings featured 2 openings ½ mile apart. Both mines had prior names: Southern mine: London, Iron Hill and Blue Mine; northern: Laurel, Red & Laurel Hill Mine.
