Commodities (Major) - Zinc
Development Status: Past Producer
Per Rory Howell ( https://www.mindat.org/mesg-637701.html ):
"The ore at South Carthage mine was collapse breccia ore, and the stopes were 101 stope, 123 stope, and 150 stope. Bulk of the production came out of the 123 stope. 150 stope was near the South Carthage Shaft, and the 101 stope was the furthest from the South Carthage Shaft (101 stope was about halfway between South Carthage Shaft and Elmwood #2 Shaft)."
"South Carthage had the typical middle Tennessee mines minerology, except I don't ever remember seeing any fluorite. It had sphalerite, dolomite, barite, and galena. Dont ever remember seeing any quartz, marcasite, or any of the strontian barite."
