Ref.: The Iron Mines of New Jersey (1910), Bayley: 49, 52, 66-67; NJ State Geol. Annual Rpts.: (1874): 31; (1879): 90; (1899): 169; (1903): 107; Rocks & Min.: 23:325. An iron mine in limonite ore lcoiated 2 miles East of Stewartsville near the base of Pohatcong Mtn. Active 1873-1874 and reopened 1900. Workings were a pit 200 feet long x 70 feet wide and 30 feet deep.
