Vol. 5, No. 1, Manchester, J.G. (1931): 91. An iron mine in magnetite ore located about 3 miles West of Milton. Started about 1855 and closed 1874. Reopened 1880-1890. Featured a shaft 40 feet deep by 1855. Ore vein was the Schofield shoot (old vein), which was 4 to 6 feet wide and 110 feet high. A 2nd. shoot was 18 feet wide.
