The Waterbury Mining Company was organized in 1850 on lands adjacent to the Delaware property. The company worked several ancient mining pits on copper rich veins between 1850 and 1854 with no success. Work was sporadic at best until 1864 when the company was bought out by the Eagle Harbor Mining Company and renamed the Middlesex Mining Company. The piles are easily accessible with copper, datolite, and calcite available.
