An iron mine in magnetite ore located about 3 miles South of Butler (an area now called Taylortown in Montville Twp.). Started before 1868; reopened 1872 and 1880. 2 ore bodies:1 = 3 feet (1 meter) wide; 2nd. = 3 to 6 feet (1 to 2 meters) wide. Workings featured a shaft 20 feet deep. Produced 50 tons ore (1880).
