Vein outcrop located about 6 miles southeast of Copper Harbor. According to Rosemeyer and Carlson (2000), it was discovered in 1990 and produced some of the largest copper crystals found in the district from a trench 45 ft. long.
The initial exploration was conducted by collector Joe Ziolkowski and was "...jokingly called the 'Pole hole' in reference to Ziolkowski's ancestry, and early specimens that were sold carried this label." (Rosemeyer and Carlson, p. 224). Some of the largest native copper crystals in the world (up to fourteen pounds) have been recovered from this locality. The crystals show a modified dodecahedron form, in addition to an unidentified tetrahexahedron form. This locality is accessible.
