The Hartford Mining Company was organized in 1860 on lands previously worked by the Coburn and Sales Mining Company. The mine was located 2 miles from Victoria and mined copper from an amygdaloidal deposit. This was a small operation with three miners working a pit for copper. In all, about three tons of ingots were produced by 1864 when the mine went idle.
