An underground copper mine consisting of one shaft located near Mandan. The Resolute Mining Company was organized in 1864 and began work on the Resolute Fissure. Little is known of this company as no mining reports or ore shipments are known to exist. In 1899, the mine was reorganized as the Resolute Copper Company and work began to de-water and stabilize the shaft which was at a depth of nearly 400 feet in depth and 2,000 feet of drifting. After this point, very little is known of the mine or its operations. Minerals to be found at the piles include copper, prehnite, and greenstones.
