An iron mine located on top of the knoll about 2 miles NW of the "Boardville" area, in the former Pompton Township (Pompton Lakes area). Started 1872 and closed end of 1873. Restarted 1882 and closed briefly thereafter. Reopened 1883 and closed near the end of 1884. The ore is a 9 foot (3 meter) wide vein of magnetite.
