A former magnesite deposit/mine located in the NW¼ sec. 31, T5S, R1W, SBM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) SSE of Hemet (city center), apparently within the city limits (4 miles SE of Winchester), on private (patented) land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in serpentinite. The deposit occurs ina stockwork of veins in a belt of serpentine 200 to 400 feet wide, intrusive into micaceous gneiss and schist. Associated rocks include schist and gneiss. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 4 (Peninsular Ranges and Western Transverse Ranges) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 2 (Peninsular Ranges).

Workings include surface openings with a length of 76.2 meters, overall depth of 73.15 meters and an overall width of 21.34 meters and comprised of an open cut.
