A V-U occurrence/group of claims/mine located in sec. 19, T48N, R17W, NMM, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by the Union Carbide Corporation (100%), Grand Junction, Colorado (1975).
Mineralization is a V-U deposit hosted in the Jurassic Morrison Formation, Salt Wash Member. Ore body No. 1 is sedimentary and irregular; No. 2 is tabular; and, No. 3 is lenticular. The depth-to-top is 83.9 meters and the minimum depth to top is 76.2 meters. The primary mode of origin is residual concentration and the secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was lithology and the secondary control was bedding. Wallrock alteration includes bleaching. Local rocks include Dakota Sandstone and rocks of the Burro Canyon Formation.
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
Production: By 1971, 42,921 tons had been mined at a grade of 0.25% U308, producing 212,693 pounds of U308, and 1.28% V205 producing 1,185,001 pounds of V205.
