A slate quarry.
Originally opened in 1851 as Wheal Hardy (SARIG mine reference: deposit No.3474)and silver/lead was mined from quartz veins.
Later used to quarry slate for building and other road making material.
Part of the quarry has been rehabilitated and built over.
