A former U occurrence/mine located in sec. 11, T47N, R11E, NMM, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by the Minerals Engineering Company (100%), Colorado (1975).

Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in granitic, migmatitic gneiss. Ore body No. 1 is disseminated and irregular. Ore body No. 2 is stockwork. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. Primary ore control was fracturing and the secondary control was faulting. Wallrock alteration is moderate (intermediate argillic). The minimum depth-to-top is 31 meters (40 meters average). Local rocks include felsic and hornblendic gneisses, either separate or interlayered.

Structure: Shear Zone Localized Ore, But Deposit Occurs Near Terminations Of Two Large Fault Zones: One On East Flank Of Sangre De Cristo Mountains (trends NW), One Trending North, North Of Cotopaxi (Cotopaxi Fault); Numerous Small Cross Faults; Between Alvarado F.....

Tectonic Structure: Central Cordillera (Southern Rocky Mountains)
