The Esperanza mine forms part of the group known as the ‘cinco minas ricas del Jaroso’, comprising the most exceptional and productive mining concessions: the Virgen del Carmen mine (or Carmen), the Ánimas mine, the Esperanza mine, the Observación mine and the La Estrella mine. The Rescatada mine is also inextricably linked to this historic group and became closely associated with these concessions as a result of land demarcation errors at the time.
