Fridhems gruva
Fridhem was discovered by Lars Bengtsson Björkqwist (1850-1927) sometime before 1905 and was mined for a while. The two shafts of the mine was named Jenny (north) and Agnes (south). The deepest shaft is at least 16 meter deep.
The gold and copper ore occurs in four quartz veins across an 8 meter wide zone, the thickest one is up to 2 m wide while the other three veins are around 15 cm wide.
Quartz is dominating the veins and chalcocite is the most common copper mineral. Other common minerals are desmin, chabasite, calcite and hematite. The gold seems to mostly occur in the drusy parts together with zeolites.
Everything that remains of the mine today is two shafts sealed with timber and a small dump pile.
