Repurposing MyNetworkTV affiliates as Independent stations

[edit]

Last year, you decided to delete the list of MyNetworkTV affiliates article following an article for deletion request in September 2025; and these were eventually transferred to the List of independent television stations page in January 2026. This was a result of an archived discussion on the talk page of Television stations task force regarding its status as a broadcast network, and they agreed that MyNetworkTV affiliates are effectively independent stations according to Nielsen Media Research, with the secondary affiliations as a footnote. Maybe we can have this article created as a redirect now. In fact, by the time the article was deleted, WHOI in Peoria became a MyNetworkTV affiliate on September 29, 2025, after Gray Media, owner of WEEK-TV acquired the station in August 2025. ~2026-43075-80 (talk) 18:08, 5 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

The article was deleted by consensus. There is and remains no justification to bring it back. Nathan Obral â€Ē he/him/ðŸĶ â€Ē t â€Ē c â€Ē 00:28, 6 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's been 20 years since the CW and MyNetworkTV were established. I think its about time to have the list of MyNetworkTV affiliates page created as a redirect to the List of independent television stations article page now, as we eventually agreed last year that MyNetworkTV affiliates are effectively independent stations from this point onwards, with any secondary affiliations being placed as a footnote. ~2026-44172-45 (talk) 18:23, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
The article was deleted by consensus, a redirect does not need to exist in any way, especially for your purposes of wishing to undo the deletion. May I kindly ask that you quit harassing me about this. Nathan Obral â€Ē he/him/ðŸĶ â€Ē t â€Ē c â€Ē 19:41, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
As of the recent network affiliation changes, KDNL-TV in St Louis is about to become an independent station with secondary MyNetworkTV affiliation, effective September 1, 2026, while KMOV is expected to add ABC programming onto a subchannel, while retaining Matrix Midwest for sports programming. ~2026-43075-80 (talk) 17:51, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
And? That is not justification to get a list of affiliates for MyNetworkTV back up. Please stop harassing me. Nathan Obral â€Ē he/him/ðŸĶ â€Ē t â€Ē c â€Ē 18:23, 26 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

DYK for WMJI

On 7 August 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article WMJI, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a rummage sale held for the classical-music library of an Ohio radio station sold out in just over two hours? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/WMJI. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (WMJI), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
