List of Murdoch Mysteries episodes

[edit]

Since you restricted editing on List of Murdoch Mysteries episodes you may have some insight into the reasons. In the past, editors have been blocked for editing that page. Maydon26 has been adding material without references, mostly future episodes, but also possible guest stars. They are also removing my reference. Their rationale is that existing episodes do not have references so he doesn't need one to add content either. I have attempted to engage both on the article's talk page and on the user's talk page, but there has been no response. Could you please suggest some options for addressing the user's actions? The advice to 'Go do a Google search' does not relieve the burden of a user who is adding unsourced information. I will leave a note for User:Maydon26. It is clear that a large number of their recent edits have been reverted. EdJohnston (talk) 01:56, 16 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you EdJohnston. Camarillo Eddie (talk) 18:07, 16 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Maydon26 has returned to edit the page four times since you left the message. Each time they added content without a reference. Another user, Mindmatrix, has been active removing the content. Any suggestions? Camarillo Eddie (talk) 21:44, 22 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Warned again. See also Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mickeydee15/Archive for a related issue from the past. He can personally disagree with our WP:V policy if he wants to but then he'll not be able to edit here. EdJohnston (talk) 03:57, 23 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Apparent single-purpose account edit-warring to reinsert unreliably sourced content to Beat Generation

[edit]

Hi, Ed, hope you're doing well. I'm cross-posting this from the Administrators' noticeboard.

I've been working on the Beat Generation (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) article, and I believe this is more than just a content dispute. The brand-new editor EJ MF NO has been edit-warring to reinsert content that I've challenged as citing a non-reliable source. They have a single-purpose account with only 21 edits, all to this article, and are not communicating on the talk page. They continue to spam the article with a thesis written for partial fulfillment of a master's degree, written by a person with only an undergraduate bachelor's degree. It has critical analysis by a non-expert and commentary about living persons—the user who wants to add this might also have a conflict of interest. This editor has added a good bit of unsourced original research to the article, and has removed a "citation needed" tag I placed on one of the many unsourced statements they've added, which is by definition original research if they can't supply a reliable source that supports it.

My post hasn't got a response at AI, and I'm wondering if you can advise how I should proceed in dealing with this editor. Carlstak (talk) 18:40, 30 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have left a warning note on the editor's talk page. Let's see if there is a response. EdJohnston (talk) 02:16, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Ed. Hopefully the editor will come around. Carlstak (talk) 02:43, 31 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
