Noteworthy events
Arrest (2026)
Upham was arrested July 16, 2026, after federal agents reviewed social media videos in which he called for the violent overthrow of the administration and allegedly made death threats against President Trump.[1] He was charged under the Title 18, Section 871 of the U.S. Code, which makes it a federal crime to threaten the life of the President of the United States.[2] Upham appeared in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Jacksonville. Upham faces up to five years in federal prison if convicted, and a judge ordered him held in federal custody while he awaited trial. His initial court appearance was scheduled for July 30, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty. [3] A trial is scheduled for Oct. 5. [4]
