- Economic Relief
We will work with state legislators to remove local and state taxes on essential items such as food, beverages, clothing, and newborn supplies - including strollers, cribs, and diapers. We will issue and pass a renter tax relief bill. Since it's a rental-driven market and most residents are renters, this is necessary to help provide immediate relief and help working families and small businesses.
We will increase Capital Gains Tax Exclusion (currently stuck at $250k for singles, $500k for married couples). This has not been updated since 1997. We will update the Capital Gains Tax Exclusion to $1.5M for singles and $2.5M for married couples. - Housing & Federal Legislation We will reduce excessive regulations in the housing market to create an affordable market dynamic. We will regulate and safeguard from developers to stop them from driving up property values and pricing out locals, forcing them to rent and spend most of their income on housing. We will also raise taxes on development companies managing $20M+ assets, making them contribute back into the community from driving up home prices and property taxes as a result of gobbling-up land for self profiting. We will launch a federal investigative committee to bring accountability for mismanaging funds allocated for homeless programs and local help facilities.
- Healthcare & Childcare We will work to limit private companies' control over health insurers and expand funding for comprehensive healthcare programs for all constituents. Immediate result, this means cheaper, better, scam-free healthcare, childcare, and senior care. Once this legislation is passed, then our longer term goal: FREE healthcare for ALL. Education shouldn't be a luxury. We will cap education costs, especially colleges/universities, so all families can send their kids to school – including our district's top schools and biotech research facilities. Education is a right, not a privilege.
