My extensive work with a broad array of companies and industries (eg, semiconductors, entertainment, oil and gas, solar energy, energy storage, electricity distribution, micro grids, consumer electronics, medical, dental, software, insurance, retail, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, litigation, aerospace) that produce software, hardware, and service products across the world ensures a practical hands-on approach that values hard work.
As a battle-hardened engineer, my focus is on achieving collaborative success. As a chief technology officer, patent holder, and business advisor with significant proven performance I bring both breadth and depth to an office that is vital to Nevada’s growth and success.
I am an unabashed member of the Democratic Party who will work across the aisle toward community solutions that benefit all of us — not a specific few.- I am running for the office of Nevada State controller precisely because we need good government and accurate oversight of the state budget. In an environment where state revenue for all state services is shrinking while costs for everyone (including state government) are rising precipitously, we need a steady and experienced hand.
- The state’s 2023 annual financial report (https://www.controller.nv.gov/siteassets/content/financialrpts/acfr/annual-comprehensive-financial-report.pdf) was issued 777 days after the close of that fiscal year end, making it the all-time, state record for the latest-issued report. The 2024 annual report still hasn’t been issued, so it’s been nearly 700 days after the close of that fiscal. The impact on our ability to handle debt and attract investment is severely affected. This means that scarce tax dollars are spent paying higher interest rates than necessary.
- I am very much a proponent of business. Indeed, most of my career has been in for-profit business of various kinds (none of my opponents have that experience). That is where economic prosperity is produced. The wealth produced by business should distributed fairly, not concentrated in the hands of a few.
