Biography
John Cowan earned a high school diploma from Cartersville High School. Cowan graduated from Davidson College with a B.S. in physics, and received an M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Michigan Medical School. As of his 2020 campaign, Cowan was a neurosurgeon and founder of Cortex Toys and Cortex Holdings.[1][2][3]

- Results Over Rhetoric I'm a neurosurgeon, not a politician. For over two decades, I've been trusted to make life-or-death decisions with steady hands and a clear head. In Congress, you get paid to deliver results — not to go viral, not to pick fights on cable news, not to run for the next office. The 11th District deserves a representative who shows up, does the work, and gets things done. That's the standard I've held myself to my entire career, and it's the standard I'll bring to Washington.
- A Real Outsider, Not Another Career Politician Washington is broken because the people we send there never leave. They trade stocks on insider information, collect a paycheck for decades, and somehow get rich on a government salary paid by hardworking taxpayers. I'm not part of that club and I never will be. I support term limits for every member of Congress, a total ban on congressional stock trading, and an end to the insider games that have turned public service into a career.
- A Leader with Backbone As a neurosurgeon, I know what a backbone is — and I know what being spineless looks like. Too many politicians bend whichever way the political winds blow. I won't. I'll stand up to rein in reckless federal spending, lower the cost of living for American families, put an end to government corruption, secure our border and elections, and put patients — not politicians — back in charge of their own medical care. It's time for leadership that will deliver the results Georgians have been promised for years and never gotten.
It’s time to clean up Washington by banning Congressional stock trading and fighting for term limits. Congress should be public service, not a career.
Families are getting crushed by the cost of living. We have to cut federal spending, slash taxes, unleash American energy, and end burdensome regulations.
President Trump is securing the border. Congress needs to back him up. And we need nationwide Voter ID — make it easy to vote and impossible to cheat.
