Observing the many changes over the years in Central Arkansas and the way those changes have affected us all, I believe it is time for a new skillset and a new face at the State Capitol. The constituents of District 71 deserve someone focused on the everyday problems families are facing as well as someone who will stand up for them.
I am an educator, longtime public servant, and someone who has spent my entire career working directly with families and the community. I will be the State Representative working across the aisle...showing up, listening to all, and putting common sense over partisanship.- With 95% of Arkansas children in public schools, public tax dollars should not be used to financially support students in private and homeschool settings at the demise of public education. All parents should have the right to determine the most appropriate educational option for their child. As a parent, I support this wholeheartedly. Our public schools can no longer afford to lose students and financial resources while trying to continue providing a quality education mandated by the state. All educational options (public, private, homeschool) must adhere to the same academic standards if state funding is provided and accepted.
- Affordable and accessible healthcare must become a top priority in Arkansas. Women should not be afraid to have a baby in this state. Arkansans should not have to drive substantial distances to visit a doctor or receive emergency care. No one should have to wait for any period of time for an insurance company approval of a screening or exam requested by a licensed physician. Families should not have to exhaust their savings to help pay for care of a loved one. All of the above mentioned issues are not the current priority of our legislature. Their votes during the 2026 fiscal session prove just that. I want to change that narrative.
- Small businesses in District 71 are the lifeline of our community. With the high cost of payroll taxes, many of the businesses struggle in keeping their doors open. Many of them cannot keep hardworking, qualified staff because of the lack of affordable and or accessible childcare in the area. As their State Representative, I plan to be the support they so desperately need. Our small businesses need support to remain open, remain sustainable, and provide a unique service to the economic structure of our community as a whole.
