Cameron Tennyson earned a high school diploma from the Buckingham Collegiate Charter Academy and a bachelor's degree from the University of California in 2019. Tennyson's career experience includes working as a clerk.[1]

I'm a 29 year-old progressive Democrat that's lived in California my whole life. I'm a union employee at a movie studio (I work a full time job while running for Congress), so I know what it's like 1) trying to afford LA on a working class budget and 2) how dangerous AI and the Warner Bros/Paramount merger will be for so many people in CA-30. I understand the urgency that we need to approach what's happening in LA with the film industry, as well as fixing the affordability crisis so that the working class can stay in the place we call home.
I realized early on that my goal in life was to help people however I could. I volunteered at Camp Taylor, a summer camp for kids with heart disease. I helped fundraise for non-profits that helped kids with medical issues. I fed homeless at the local church. When the SAG and WGA strikes were going on, I walked the picket lines with a backpack full of waters and snacks, handing them out to anyone in need. In 2024, when my union workplace was in negotiations for a new contract, I helped educate my fellow employees and rallied the team to vote No on the contract we were given - the first time the department had ever voted No on a contract since it had become union in the early 2000s. That No vote scared the company, and they bumped us up from $19/hr to $25/hr.
And now I'm running for Congress, because the person who represents you, should represent YOU.- Healthcare is a human right, which is why we'll fight for single-payer healthcare for all. The ACA is a band-aid on the true problem in our country: for-profit private health insurance companies are monopolistic scams takes advantage of their customers, who have no other option than to be at the mercy of the executives who decide if their surgery is covered or not. This is an atrocity - we live in the richest country in the world, yet people have to start GoFundMe's just so that they can pay for life-saving care. Not once I'm in Congress. A Yale study estimated that Medicare for All would prevent 68,000 deaths and save the government $450 billion per year. The fact that we haven't instituted this already is insanity.
- We need federal AI regulation NOW. AI will impact everywhere, but the workers in CA-30 will feel it the most. Los Angeles is a town built by creatives, for creatives. The executives that now run this town will do anything they can to increase profit, and the moment AI reaches the point it can replace human workers, thousands are going to be out of work. That's why if elected, I'll introduce the "Human First Act", the first federal bill ever to regulate AI. In this bill, we will create legal definitions for the words "AI", "Generative AI", "AI-Assisted Tools", and more, in addition to making it illegal for workplaces to replace human workers with AI.
- We must Abolish ICE. We must prosecute every single ICE agent and government individual that allows these atrocities to play out without consequences. What ICE is doing is not only morally atrocious, but also completely unconstitutional. People are being rounded up and kidnapped based on nothing but the color of their skin. Alex Pretti was executed in broad daylight, yet the Trump administration and DHS continue to allow these masked goons to run free in our neighborhoods. ICE presents a safety issue for everyone, not just the undocumented. These ICE agents are vile individuals who are power hungry, and they don't care if anyone gets hurt along the way. We're a nation built by immigrants, and we have to treat people with dignity.
I'm also passionate about human rights, equity, and equality. People still underestimate the amount of systemic racism that is built into America. Slavery was outlawed 160 years ago and the Civil Rights Act was passed only 60 years ago, it's literally impossible for the effects of segregation to have dissipated entirely. Right now, trans rights are especially under attack.
