Our commitment
SCImago Research Group, S.L. is committed to making the SCImago Journal & Country Rank website (www.scimagojr.com) accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
Although we are a private organisation, we voluntarily follow the European and Spanish web accessibility framework: Directive (EU) 2016/2102, Royal Decree 1112/2018 and the harmonised standard EN 301 549, which refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Our target is WCAG 2.2, level AA.
This statement applies to all pages under www.scimagojr.com.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA and EN 301 549, due to the non-compliances listed below. We are working to fix them.
Non-accessible content
Known non-compliances
- — Some text, links and buttons in our brand orange, and the quartile labels (Q1–Q4) in rankings, do not have enough colour contrast (WCAG 1.4.3). Some links inside text are only distinguished by colour (WCAG 1.4.1).
- — Interactive charts and maps (journal and country profiles, Viz Tools, World Report, maps and bubble charts) cannot be fully explored with a keyboard or a screen reader (WCAG 1.1.1, 2.1.1). See the alternatives below.
- — The filter menus in the rankings (subject area, category, region, type, year) can be used with the keyboard, but they do not yet expose their full state to assistive technologies (WCAG 4.1.2).
- — The keyboard focus indicator is not visible on some search fields (WCAG 2.4.7).
- — On some pages, the search box shows its hint as text inside the field, which disappears when typing (WCAG 3.3.2).
- — Some pages have an incomplete heading structure (WCAG 1.3.1).
Content not under our control
- — Advertising served by third parties (Google AdSense) and the cookie consent message.
- — External websites and documents we link to, including the journals' own websites.
Accessible alternatives
- — Journal, country and value rankings can be downloaded as a spreadsheet using the Download button at the top of each ranking.
- — In journal profiles, each chart has a table view with the same data. You can switch to it with the table button next to the chart, using the mouse or the keyboard.
- — If you need any information from this website in another format, please contact us (see below) and we will provide it.

Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 8 October 2026 and last reviewed on 8 October 2026.
It is based on a self-assessment carried out by SCImago on a representative sample of pages (home, rankings, journal and country profiles, search results, Viz Tools, comparison tools, about, contact and legal pages), using automated testing (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 AA rules) and manual review of keyboard navigation, zoom and page structure.
