Original material was shown to be either apatite (Tavistock material) or wavellite (Cornish material).
Tavistockite is a discredited species, see P.G.Embrey and E.E. Fejer (1969) Mineral Mag, 37, p123-7.
It was proved to be a mixture of kaolin and carbonate-fluorapatite.
The Cornish material, which was derived from the Stenna Gwyn Mine is actually Wavellite.
