About CoproliteHide

a. The fossil excrement of fishes, reptiles, and mammals. Coprolites are often composed largely of calcium phosphate ("phosphorite")(Holmes, 1928), but can also be replaced by siderite, pyrite, silica, or even be the unreplaced dehydrated original organic matter.

b. The fossilized and undigested residue that has been eaten and passed through the alimentary canal of some animal.
