Name:
Named for type locality
Tungsten-rich variety of wulfenite (compare also Stolzite-Wulfenite Series). It was proposed as a new mineral, but is considered a structural variant of wulfenite (unlike wulfenite, it crystallises in space group I4 due to W-Mo ordering; Jury et al., 2001). However, the ordering has been convincingly questioned later on.

Originally described from Christmas Gift Mine, Chillagoe, Chillagoe-Herberton District, Queensland, Australia.
