About JetHide

Name:
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_(gemstone) :

"The English noun jet derives from the French word for the same material, jaiet (modern French jais), ultimately referring to the ancient town of Gagae."
A hard gem-quality hydrocarbon, previously described as a hard lignite but this was disproved in the 1990s.

The name "Jet" is often (mis-)applied to material with similar appearance and properties worldwide that may have been formed through different processe, but true Jet is a fossilised driftwood that has been impregnated with hydrocarbons from algal and bacterial blooms in anoxic conditions.
