Synonym:
A synonym of Tetrahedrite Subgroup
Originally described as a sulphur-deficient variety of Tetrahedrite (Fellenberg, 1864). This description, however, was based on a wrong chemical analysis. As was shown by Soom (1986), Fellenberg's material was a Zn-bearing As-rich tetrahedrite, with the Sb:As atomic ratio being 5:4. Consequently, Studerite has to be regarded as a synonym of Tetrahedrite.
