Name:
Named in 1888 by Gottlob Eduard Linck in honor of Ferdinand Carl Bertram Hugo Bücking [September 12, 1851 Bieber, Hesse, Germany - November 10, 1932 Heidelberg, Germany] professor of mineralogy at University of Berlin, University of Strassburg, and other institutions. Bücking was director of mineralogischen Museums und Institutes of the University of Kiel and later director of the Geological Survey of Alsace-Lorraine. Bücking was a researcher who studied the photoelastic behavior of crystals.
