Hardy Vincent Ellsworth
Name:
Named in 1923 by Thomas Leonard Walker and Arthur Leonard Parsons in honor of Hardy Vincent Ellsworth [1889 Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada - October 4, 1952 Ottawa, Ontario, Canada], of the Canadian Geological Survey. Ellsworth was a researcher of granite pegmatites, uranium and rare earth elements, systematic mineralogist, and an organizer for the Committee for the Measurement of Geologic Time in the 1920s and 1930s. He described camsellite, hyblite, lyndochite, toddite, and thucolite.
