Name given in 1904 by J. Morozewicz of yellow-brown crystals found in mariupolite from the Sea of Azov, Ukraine. Named in honour of the Austrian mineralogist and petrograph Friedrich Becke (1855-1931).
Synonym:
A synonym of Britholite-(Ce)
A discredited member of the Apatite Group. Synonym of Britholite-(Ce).
Originally described from Mariupol' (Oktyabr'skii) Massif, Azov Sea Region, Donetsk Oblast', Ukraine. Described as "wax-yellow, octahedral or rhombic dodecahedral crystals resembling pyrochlore in appearance and physical characters." Embrey and Fuller (1980).
