After Anselm Boetius de Boodt (Bruges c. 1550 - Bruges June 21 1634), Belgian physician and author of a well-known work on gems.
Synonym:
A synonym of Heterogenite
A name given by de Leenheer (1936) to a friable, gray-black material mixed with talc, kaolinite and quartz from the Star of the Congo Mine, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo.
Later shown to by Hey (1962) to be an impure heterogenite.
