NYF pegmatites are complex pegmatites characterised by unusual enrichment in niobium, yttrium, fluorine, beryllium, rare earth elements, scandium, titanium, zirconium, thorium, and uranium.
They are considered to be derived from A-type granite and I-type granites that were relatively low in aluminium (subaluminous to metaluminous granites) and originated from melting of depleted crust or mantle rock.
