About TahititeHide

A volcanic rock consisting of phenocrysts of haüyne in a glassy groundmass with augite microlites, titanomagnetite, haüyne, and occasional orthoclase and leucite. Although regarded as an extrusive equivalent of a nepheline monzonite (Johannsen, 1938), with which it is associated, it would be classified chemically in TAS as a haüyne tephriphonolite or phonotephrite.
