Name:
Named in 1874 by Karl Ludwig Fridolin von Sandberger after the locality, the Clara Mine, Hinterrankach, Schapbach, Baden, Germany. Originally thought to be a monoclinic polymorph, because of a probably distorted crystal.
Synonym:
A synonym of Enargite
Shown to be enargite largely altered to covellite and chalcopyrite.
