Name:
First named as "rijkeboerite” by van der Veen (1963) honoring the Dutch chemist A. Rijkeboer. The name was replaced with bariomicrolite by Hogarth (1977).
A discredited mineral. According to the new IMA nomenclature of the Pyrochlore Supergroup the mineral formerly named as bariomicrolite is probably a hydrokenomicrolite. (Atencio et al. 2010).
The type sample apparently has □ dominant at the A position and H2O at the Y position, and as such is probably hydrokenomicrolite.

The bariomicrolite species of Hogarth (1977), the rijkeboerite of van der Veen (1963), is also too poor in Ba to warrant this name. The bariomicrolite studied by Beurlen et al. (2005) is probably also hydrokenomicrolite.
