Phoscorite is a mnemonic rock name derived from the acronym FOSKOR (Phosphat Development Corporation, operating in Phalaborwa, South Africa), combined with the standard rock suffix -ite.
A rock composed primarily of magnetite, apatite and olivine, usually associated with carbonatites.
