Co-described with UM1990-14-E:AuCuPt, UM1990-15-E:CuPdPt, UM1990-40-S:CuFePdPtRh, and UM1990-20-E:NiPtSn, the latter possibly identical to nisnite. Also associated is shandite, Au-Cu-Ag alloy, and a Pt-Cu-Au alloy of supposed distorted CuAu-type structure.
Found among many other PGE minerals in heavy mineral concentrates of alluvial origin. It occurs as droplet-like inclusion in isoferroplatinum.
