Forms powdery massive crusts and micron-sized aggregates and masses of prismatic crystals. The crystals are poorly developed, subhedral to euhedral, up to 0.1 mm long (width: below 1 micron). Closely associated with cinnabar and edoylerite, sometimes also with wattersite. May be covered by CCUK-14.
Possibly the last Hg mineral formed during chromate-bearing hydrothermal event.
