Probably not a single mineral species. May be related to the Magnéli phases. Interesting due to probable high content of trivalent titanium, indicated by high chemical analysis summation if Ti is calculated wholly as TiO2.

Found in mudstone xenoliths among native (terrestrial) iron of a strongly reduced andesite breccia. Vitrinite and inertinite occur in this xenolith. Associated minerals include some Al-Ti oxides.

These natural Magnéli phases constitute cores of zoned grains, and are also found as aggregates of prismatic or irregular grains. Their structure is derived from that of rutile.
