As grains, long tabular or elongate and diamond-shaped, up to 0.72 mm (usually 0.03-0.4 mm), intergrown with or as inclusions in chalcopyrite; associated minerals include galena, hessite, matildite, pyrite, silver, sphalerite, and two unnamed Pb-Bi-Ag-Cu sulfosalts.
The mineral is said to be compositionally similar to aikinite-bismuthinite series and to "Phase x" of Karup-Møller (Can. Mineral. 1970: 10 173-190).
The loality is reported as "Laiyun copper-iron deposit".
