About Post-eclogite amphibolite
An eclogite which has experienced later metamorphism and that now contains omphacite and garnet as abundant relics in an amphibolite groundmass.
Hernes (1954) lists the following modal percentages from a post-eclogite amphibolite from the Molde, Møre og Romsdal, Norway:
Clinopyroxene, 10%
Garnet, 8%
Amphibole, 53%
Plagioclase, 22%
Epidote, accessory
Quartz, 3%
Apatite, accessory
Titanite, accessory
Rutile, accessory
Fe-oxides, 4%
Sulfides, accessory
