Mangerite is an orthopyroxene-bearing monzonite - a coarse-grained intermediate plutonic igneous rock containing essential plagioclase, alkali feldspar and mafic minerals, especially hypersthene. It often occurs in association with norite, anorthosite, charnockite and rapakivi granite in deep-seated Proterozoic metamorphic belts.
