This is the second natural Pd-Cl phase currently known - compare Unnamed (Pd-Bi Chloride). Also represents the first described PGE-halogen mineral.
Occurs as very small (up to 30 x 30 microns) rounded to anhedral inclusions (fine-fibrous structure) within insizwaite-geversite and paolovite, within massive pyrrhotite from the Oktyabr'skoe deposit, Russia. Also assotiaced with argentopentlandite, cubanite, Cl-bearing hisingerite, galena, marcasite, mackinawite, pyrite, sphalerite, silver and other PGE minerals. Appears gray with a shagreen-like surface in sections perpendicular to the fibers; somewhat resembles valleriite.
