Fe(S3+,As)2O4
A (Pb,As,Tl)-bearing material comes from the Orzeł Biały mine, Upper Silesia, Poland. One of a few mixed/intermediate valence compounds of such deposits, by subsulphites, sulphites (Unnamed (Fe Sulphite), Unnamed (Zn Sulphite)), pyrosulphites (see Unnamed (Fe Pyrosulphite)) and thiosulphates ('UM1995-34-SO:Fe', Unnamed (Fe Thiosulphate II), Unnamed (Pb Thiosulphate)). The list also includes 'UM1995-35-SO:FePb'.
These compounds are generally banded/radial/fibrous/spherulitic in form and have lowered reflectivity with growing sulphur valence. They are precursors for banded ore sulfides. Compare also Unnamed (Fe Oxysulphide).
The phase occurs within banded sulfide matrix. Oxygen may be balanced thanks to SiO2 admixture.
Its is likely the only subsulphite mineral (though not approved) to date.
