An iron sulphoxylane found in carbonate-hosted Zn-Pb deposits of Poland and Belgium.
One of a few mixed/intermediate valence compounds of such deposits, by subsulphites (see Unnamed (Fe Subsulphite)), sulphites (Unnamed (Fe Sulphite), Unnamed (Zn Sulphite)), pyrosulphites (Unnamed (Fe Pyrosulphite)) and thiosulphates (compare 'UM1995-34-SO:Fe' and Unnamed (Fe Thiosulphate II)). These compounds are generally banded/radial/fibrous/spherulitic in form and have lowered reflectivity with growing sulphur valence.
The sulphoxylane forms bands up to 40 microns thick, grading into Fe-bearing galena with goethite inclusions. It has significant admixtures of As, Zn and Pb. Compare also Unnamed (Fe Oxysulphide).
This is likely the only known sulphoxylane mineral.
Compare albertiniite (an approved Fe sulphite mineral).
