Name introduced by Igelström (1867) for a greyish white asbestos amphibole from Brunnsjögruvan, Sweden, thought to be a variety of dannemorite (which was renamed Manganogrunerite by IMA in 1997).
Asbeferrite was descredited by CNMMN and classed as a synonym of Asbestos (Leake 1978).
