Name:
Name introduced by Levy in 1824 for a mineral from one of the Neskilen Fe Mines [Neskiel], Arendal, Norway. It was found on one sample in the collection of Hampden-Turner. The mineral occurred as dark-brown to black, small crystals, short-prismatic along [010]. It was named after the English geologist William Buckland (1784-1856).
